More about Naturopathy

Natural medicine was the original medicine, now known as alternative medicine, and used in conjunction with allopathic medicine. Unlike allopathy which focuses on treating disease, naturopathy is health focused, and is based on 6 principles. These are as follows: The healing power of nature (Vis medicatrix naturae), First do no harm (Primum non nocere), Treat the cause (Toll causum), Treat the whole person (Tolle totum), Doctor as teacher (Docere) and Prevention.

How Will Rosie Assess My Case?

Rosie will ask a series of questions about your presenting complaint, health history and state of well-being. She listens to the words used and feels what is unspoken, to gain a sense of where you are at with your health.

Having a sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medicinal food science, energetics of food and nutritional biochemistry, pathology and pathophysiology, pharmacology and pharmacognosy, herbal material medica, iridology, communication and counselling skills as well as basic psychology, helps Rosie to understand the many parts to your health picture.

Creating an appropriate treatment plan and prescription is a lot like a work of art, although we follow scientifically proven, best practice protocols, there are many different ways to treat and choosing the most indicated herbs and nutrients will often be personal and unique to you.

Australian Bush Flower Essences

Australian Bush Flower Essences are energetic medicine which work on the psycho-emotional aspects of a patient. We are drawn to specific shapes, surfaces, colours and patterns (of native Australian bush flowers) at different times, depending on what is happening in life and our reactions to it. Having a reading can unravel thoughts and emotions of the sub-conscious as well as conscious mind and lead to a prescription tailored to the essences required for the desired outcome.

Iridology

Iridology is a naturopathic clinical diagnostic technique that can confirm or clarify specific nutritional insufficiencies, constitutional information, current as well as past health conditions. The rule of three’s generally applies, wherein a condition isn’t confirmed (solely through iridology) unless it correlates to both pathology results and a client’s objective data. For example, low iron may be suspected due to low dietary intake (1), seen in the iris (as a blue anaemic ring, 2), and confirmed through a blood test (3).
